Frequently Asked Questions

OCD is frequently misunderstood and mistreated. Many therapists use general talk therapy or CBT, which can actually make OCD worse. A specialized OCD therapist uses targeted treatments like ERP and ICBT that are designed for how OCD actually works. Unlike general therapy, these approaches require specific training and experience to do effectively. If you're looking for specialized OCD care in North Carolina or Virginia, I can help you get the treatment you deserve.

Before you see any therapist, call your insurance company. Ask the rep what your in- and out-of-network benefits are for mental health therapy.
I am in-network with Aetna and Ambetter. I am a Tricare certified provider, which means that you could be eligible for reimbursement for a portion of the session fees. Many Tricare clients get between $65-$90 off per appointment.

Weekly. I get that life is busy and you have a lot going on. Therapy is intended to be time-limited so it is not ongoing forever. Meeting for therapy every week is proven to give you better results and can help you reach your treatment goals faster. As you make progress, we go to every other week.

Yes! I provide online therapy for OCD throughout North Carolina and Virginia. Using evidence-based approaches like ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention), I help clients manage obsessions and compulsions from the comfort of their own home.

I specialize in two powerful approaches for OCD: Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Inference-Based CBT (ICBT). ERP is the gold-standard evidence-based treatment that helps you gradually face fears without giving in to compulsions. ICBT is a highly effective method that works on the underlying thought patterns that keep OCD going. I tailor the approach to what works best for you.
