What Every Purse Needs to Know
about Therapy Costs
Counseling Sessions
Our sessions are typically 55-60 minutes.
First session fee: $200
Regular session fee: $175
Insurance
Insurance may cover or reimburse a portion of your visit fees. I am in-network with Aetna and am Tricare-certified. If you have Tricare, I can explain how this works during our consult call. In many instances, Tricare patients get reimbursed a good portion of their therapy costs.
If you have insurance like Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, etc., I use Thrizer to help you access your out-of-network (OON) benefits! Instead of you submitting a “superbill” (aka receipt) to your insurance or waiting weeks for reimbursement from insurance, Thrizer takes care of this for you! Thrizer makes it easy.
I do not take Medicaid & Medicaid does not offer OON benefits.
*Out-of-network reimbursement varies by plan.
Pay Healthcare Costs Over Time*
I proudly accept the CareCredit credit card to help you finance your healthcare needs. With the CareCredit credit card, you can pay for today's bill over time*, and be ready with a revolving credit limit for future healthcare cost needs. Use CareCredit to pay your deductibles, copays and other costs not covered by insurance.* Special financing options are available.*
Don't have CareCredit?
*Subject to credit approval. Minimum monthly payments required. Promotional financing options are available on purchases of $200 or more. Standard Account Terms apply to purchases of less than $200. Things to keep in mind:
Nationwide, the average cost of therapy is $182/session and only 38% of private practice therapists are in-network with any insurance at all!
Individual psychotherapy in North Carolina and Virginia is expected to rise given the high demand for mental health services.
OCD therapy is a specialized treatment due to extensive training and experience. With a greater level of expertise, the therapy costs ensure that you are receiving high-quality care for your OCD treatment.
You can get your $ back through your out-of-network benefits.
Helpful tip: I work with Thrizer, a company that helps you get your out-of-network benefits from your insurance without the wait or the hassle. They submit claims on your behalf so you can get $$ back! Check your insurance coverage with Thrizer today, they are willing to do this for free.
Good Faith Estimate
-
The good faith estimate shows the list of expected charges for items or services from your provider or
facility. Because the good faith estimate is based on information known at the time your provider creates the estimate, it won’t include any unknown or unexpected costs that may be added during your treatment. Generally, the good faith estimate must include expected charges for:
• The primary item or service
• Any other items or services you’re reasonably expected to get as part of the primary item or service for that period of care.
-
Depending on your situation, you may need between 12 and 30 psychotherapy sessions of 50 minutes each this year. At a rate of $155 for the first visit and $135 per follow up visit, the estimated total costs are between $1,640 to $4,070.
-
I may recommend additional items or services as part of your treatment that are not reflected in the estimate (i.e. family sessions). These would need to be scheduled separately.
The information provided in the Good Faith Estimate is only an estimate, as actual items, services, or charges may differ.
The Good Faith Estimate does not obligate or require the client to obtain any of the listed services from the provider. -
